Summer Fun at 7 Peaks

This summer we enjoyed having a season pass to the local water park 7 Peaks. We usually went a couple times each week. Lizzie especially enjoyed going down the tube slides. Ali and Aiden enjoyed the littler slides and lazy river. It was nice because a lot of our friends and neighbors had passes as well, so we would meet up together. We are hoping to get another pass for next year!

Aunt Holly's Wedding

Just a couple weeks after we returned home from Ohio we flew back for Shae's sisters wedding. Aunt Holly got married to Uncle Ben. The kids loved flying and so did we! It was so nice to get a direct flight instead of driving the 28 hours! Holly and Ben got married in the Columbus, Ohio Temple. The ceremony was great! Afterwards they had a reception at a nearby church. Everything looked beautiful and went great!

Trip to Ohio

This summer we drove out to Ohio to visit Shae's parents while Shae went to Canada for the week on a canoe trip with his old ward and scout troop. While we were back there we had a chance to go to King's Island, which is a huge amusement and water park. We also visited different pools around the area. We had a fun time seeing his family. The kids loving playing with their two cats named Tiger and Emma. The ride in the car was very long, but we survived! :)

Ali Skiing

Shae took Ali skiing for the first time. I guess they only did one run. Ali mostly wanted to hike around and play in the snow. That is okay. At least she had a fun time. It is Aiden's turn next time to go.

Zoo

Shae and I took the kids to the zoo about a week ago. Our neighbor and friend Diana and her kids Morgan and Colt came with us. It was nice to have almost the whole zoo to ourselves because it was a cold and cloudy day. The kids loved seeing the elephants, tigers and wolves the best. It was a fun time!

Canyoneering

Shae and I had the chance to go near Canyon Lands and hike through a slot canyon. We camped overnight and then hiked most of the day. We had to do some repelling down the canyon and that was fun. My Mom was nice enough to watch the kids so we could go. I would like to do it again sometime!

Katelyn's 1st Birthday

Yesterday we had our primary program, so the extended family came to see it. So we also decided to celebrate Katelyn's 1st birthday a couple days early. We had a yummy dinner. Katelyn then opened her presents. She got some fun toys, a soft blanket, and pajamas. I think Katelyn mostly enjoyed her delicious birthday chocolate cake and ice cream!

Aiden and Ali's Birthdays

The end of October Aiden turned 3 and Ali turned 5. We had a fun family birthday party for them with a dog pinata and pin the tail on the donkey game. They both got Zhu Zhu pets that they love. Ali got a great dress up dress from Grandpa and Grandma Bennett. They also got some play dough. Aiden got his own scooter and tennis racket. It was a fun birthday.

Halloween

This year Lizzie was Spider woman, Ali, a barbie, Aiden a tiger and Katelyn a ladybug. Grandpa Bennett and Shae took the 3 older kids trick or treating in the rain while Angie, Debbie and I played games and passed out candy to the trick or treaters. It was a fun Halloween!

Soccer

Ali and Lizzie just finished their fall soccer season. It was sure busy there for awhile. During the soccer season we had two practices and four games per week. I would pack a lunch or dinner depending on what day their game was on and we would hang out at the fields for three hours. Lizzie really loved playing this year again. She is really aggressive and I have had to talk to her about pushing and tripping the other girls. She reminds me of myself! Ali on the other hand, would hang out in the goal and play with the net most of the time. She is not competitive like Lizzie is and that is fine. Ali thought soccer was more a social thing. It was her first year. We will see how she likes it after the spring season and see if she wants to play again next year. It was fun being able to watch them play! I have fond memories of playing soccer growing up and hopefully they will too. I'm sure Aiden will want to play too when he is old enough.

Play group at Thanksgiving Point

While Lizzie and Ali were at school a couple of my neighbors and I had play group at Thanksgiving Point. We had fun visiting while we went and saw all the animals. They have pony rides there and I tried to get Aiden on a pony, but he started freaking out. So I had Katelyn go on a pony. I walked right by her and held on to her the whole time. At first she didn't know what was going on. It was still pretty cute. We all had a fun time!

Utah County Fair

Awhile ago my sister in law, Camille, and I decided to take our kids to the Utah County Fair in Spanish Fork. We got there early to have the kids ride the rides before all the lines. We ended up having to wait until they opened. While we waited we went and saw a horse show and the different animals they had. The kids also really loved riding the rides. It was a fun day!

Lizzie's surgery

About a week after Lizzie broke her nose she had surgery to realign it. Everything went well. I tried to get a picture of her before the surgery, but she said I could take some pictures of her while she was still asleep afterward. The hardest part now has been trying to keep her still. She feels so good and thinks she can still run around. One more week then she can be active again. Her nose looks much better and almost back to her cute self.

Camping

Two weekends ago we went camping up in American Fork Canyon with our friends Gen and Ashton and their little girl Lucy. The kids enjoyed playing in the creek near by and eating lots of smores. I hardly slept at night, but still had a good time. Saturday morning however, Lizzie was walking towards the car and tripped on a rock and hit her nose on the bumper of Shae's car. It started bleeding really bad and swelled up. We were positive that she broke it. Not long after that we headed home.

Boating

My brother was kind to take us boating for July 24th. I was especially excited to go since I'm not pregnant and could wake board and wake surf. I got up on the first time, so that is good since I haven't done it for a couple years. Grandma also came with us along with Michael's kids. Camille was out of town. Grandma tried getting up on the surf board, but had no luck. Maybe next time. The kids love the boat and enjoyed swimming in the water. Aiden didn't really like swimming, he was a little scared. Well we had good food and a good time. I can't wait until we can go again.

Zoo

We have enjoyed having a zoo pass this year for the family. Since Aiden has had staples in his head and we couldn't go swimming at the pool, we decided to go to the zoo. My friend Evelyn came with us. We had a great time seeing all the animals and then going to Red Robin after to get a cheeseburger.

Boise

A couple weeks ago we went to Boise to visit Uncle Scot and Aunt Megan. They were performing in the play The Wizard of Oz. Aunt Megan played the part of the wicked witch and Uncle Scot played the parts of Uncle Henry, a munchkin, and the gate keeper. Aunt Megan was so convincing Aiden would shake every time she came on stage. She had the perfect evil laugh. Scot was very good as well. I especially loved him as a munchkin because he is normally a big guy. I liked how they used chairs and some clever costumes. The play was really good. It is now one of my favorites that they have performed.
We also enjoyed swimming at the hotel pool, going to the Discovery Museum, and going to the park to watch the fireworks for the 4th of the July. We mostly enjoyed seeing Uncle Scot and Aunt Megan.

St. George

Yes, I am updating our blog! Can you believe it? So for Memorial Day weekend we went to St. George with my Dad and Debbie, Michael and his family, Becca, and us. We stayed at Michael's bosses house. It is a 4 million dollar house. It has 2 swimming pools, steam room, sauna room, huge theater room. Anyway is was really nice. We played some tennis, swam, watched movies, and played games. It was pretty fun!

Christmas

Christmas this year was nice because it was just our family. The girls woke up at about 6 am and then we got Aiden up. Aiden got a new bike that he loves. Now he won't have to borrow Ali's bike anymore. Ali got a new baby set that comes with a baby stroller, high chair and bassinet. Lizzie got a Crayola Color Explosion set. Katelyn got two outfits. That night we went to my Mom's place for dinner. I made dinner for everyone on Christmas Eve and had my Mom and Rebecca over. We also watched Elf and played Phase 10. On Saturday we went and played tennis with my Dad and Debbie and had dinner. We opened presents and played Dominos. It was a nice Christmas.

Angie and Jason's Wedding

My youngest sister Angie just got married to Jason Ivancich on December 12th in the Mount Timpanogos Temple. It was great to be at the sealing. She had her reception at the Provo Library ballroom. Everything went well. We also went to Glendora, California for her other reception because that is where Jason is from. The trip went well. The kids enjoyed riding in our new minivan, watching a movie. But we are so happy for her and we love Jason and his family.

Katelyn Ava Fetters

Katelyn was born Monday morning via c-section. She weighed 9 lbs. and 19 inches long. The doctors had to push on my stomach really hard to get her out because she was so big. Everyone in the operating room was talking about how big she was. Most of her weight is in her cheeks. I love babies that have some baby fat on them!
So I stayed in the hospital until Thursday and came home. The kids couldn't come to the hospital to see the baby because it is H1N1 flu season. So they had to wait to meet Katelyn until I came home. Aiden was the first to meet her since the girls were at school. He wanted to hold her a lot. And of course Ali and Lizzie loved her and wanted to be by her the whole day. Thanks for everyone (Mom, Camille, Angie, and Jason) who helped watch the kids while I was in the hospital! I couldn't have done it with out your help!
Katelyn is such a great baby. She eats a lot and sleeps a lot. She is turning out to be just like all our other babies! I love having a baby again and I can't stop holding her and kissing her big cheeks! We all love her a bunch!

Halloween

Halloween this year was busy. We first celebrated Aiden's 2nd birthday and then Ali's 4th birthday. We also had a friend birthday party on Halloween for mainly Ali. Besides all the birthday stuff, our water heater started leaking really bad so we bought a new one and with the help of my brother Michael and our friend Ashton, Shae put the new one in. Let me tell you it was no fun having no water for two days. Thanks to my mom who let us shower at her house and did our laundry for us!
On Halloween we went out to dinner with my dad and his wife Debbie. Then my dad took the kids trick or treating since Shae was still putting the water heater in and I didn't feel up to it. But the kids loved everything about Halloween. Lizzie was a cheerleader. Ali was a chicken and Aiden was a bear.

Uncle Scot and Megan's wedding

Last weekend we went to Boise for Scot and Megan's wedding. We had fun spending 3 nights in a hotel with Shae's family. The kids enjoyed swimming in the pool.
Lizzy and Ali were the flower girls and Aiden was the ring bearer. The girls did well when it was their turn to walk down the aisle and scatter flowers. Aiden decided not to walk down the middle aisle, but went down on the side aisle. It was cute though.
We are so happy that Megan is part of our family. It was fun to see all the Shae's family too. We got to see Aunt Becca too since she lives in Boise. The kids miss Aunt Becca. But the trip went well.

Boating

We went boating on Friday night to Utah Lake with my brother Michael, my sister Angie and her finance Jason. It was really fun. I did however get eaten by mosquitos after we were done and getting the boat out. Lizzy got up on the surf board with my brother and Lizzy and Ali got in the water for a little bit.

Bridal Veil Falls

For FHE the other night we went up to Bridal Veil Falls to play in the water and have peanut butter pie that Shae made. We went up with our friends Gen and Ashton and their new baby Lucy. It was fun, but the water was pretty cold. That didn't stop Elizabeth and Ali from playing in the water. It did however keep Aiden out of the water most of the time. I have to say Ali was the most adventurous. She tried to climb up the mountain and on a big rock.

Sleeping on the trampoline

Sunday night we were all playing on the tramp when I told the kids I used to sleep on my trampoline when I was a kid. Then of course Lizzy and Ali said they wanted to sleep on the tramp. So I told them I would with them. Lizzy and Ali fell asleep fine. But I couldn't sleep. My hips and lower back kept hurting. So finally at 1 or 2 am I decided to come inside and sleep. Ali then woke up and was scared. So I brought the girls inside and we slept in our beds. Maybe we will try another time when I'm not pregnant.

Swimming this summer

We have had a fun time swimming this summer. I think this summer we went swimming more than any other summer. This summer Lizzy has learned how to do a flip off the side of the pool. She also tries to dive off, but it is more of a belly flop. All the kids like going down the big slide. They sit on our laps and wear a life jacket. They have also enjoyed getting a snow cone afterward.

Camping

My mom's side of the family had a mini reunion up Hobble Creek Canyon camping. We went up Friday and came back late Saturday night. We had fun making smores, playing in the creek and hanging out with family. The girls slept perfect in the tent. Aiden woke up once and was scared because he didn't know where we were. I calmed him down and he went back to sleep. But I didn't sleep at all even though we had an air mattress. Our original plan was to stay until Sunday but I was afraid I wasn't going to sleep again and we needed to get back to go to church. So we got home at 11pm Saturday night. It was a fun time and we will have to go camping again soon.

Boating again

We went boating with my family on July 3rd to celebrate my sister's, Rebecca, 26th birthday. Shae hadn't been boating for ten years and I have to say I was impressed by my coordinated husband! He got up on the first try wake boarding and surf boarding. He also had fun tubing. Too bad I couldn't do anything since I'm pregnant. We all had a good time and ate good food.

I haven't taken pictures of anything lately and when I don't take any pictures, I feel like there is nothing to post about. But this is what we have been up to lately:

-the girls are in swimming lessons
-the girls getting a tennis lesson from my dad
-going swimming at the Scera Pool where we have a pass
-going to Lizzy's T-ball games every Saturday
-going to Shae's softball games every Tuesday
-going to my pregnancy check ups
-watching Wimbledon on television
-kids playing in our new sandbox
-hosting Bunco at our house (game that some ladies in my ward play every second Thursday of the month)
-planning a baby shower for my friend Genevieve
-giving the kids little lessons on letters, numbers, reading, Spanish, ect. so they don't forget everything they learned in preschool

These are some of the things we have been doing lately. Hopefully I will take some pictures soon and feel like I can post something worth posting.

Boating

My brother owns a boat and invited us out boating on Saturday. I took the kids while Shae stayed home to get some stuff done. We all had a good time even though I couldn't wake board since I'm pregnant. Lizzy got on the surf board with my brother. She really didn't like it much though since she was scared and the water was a little cold. Ali fell asleep sitting up on the boat since we were out during nap time. Aiden fell asleep at the very end. It was a fun day.

T-Ball

On Saturday Lizzy started her first season of T-Ball. She did very well! She liked batting the best. It was fun to see all the kids swarm to the ball in the field. Our team, however, did throw the ball to first base to try and get the runner out. It was fun to watch and Lizzy loved the treats at the end. So now for the next couple months we will go to her game every Saturday.

No Doubt

On Memorial Day Shae and I went to Salt Lake to see No Doubt in concert. It was so much fun! We got there a little late because traffic was crazy. I think all of Salt Lake was going to the concert. I'm kind of glad we got there late because the opening band, Paramore, was performing and it was so loud my body was shaking. We had really great seats just off the right side of the stage. So after Paramore performed they had to set up this elaborate stage for No Doubt. Everything was white and it reminded me of a space ship. Anyway No Doubt was awesome! They put on a really great show!

Farm Animals

We went to Thanksgiving Point with the girls preschool class to see all the farm animals. We saw cows, sheep, goats, chickens, peacocks, ducks, turkeys, horses, rabbits,and pigs. The highlight of the field trip was of coarse the pony rides. Lizzy had been talking about the pony rides for a long time and wanted to ride the biggest pony. Ali also rode the biggest pony. We had sack lunches there too. That was a fun field trip!

Warm Day

It was a nice spring day out the other day so I decided to get the sprinkler out and let the kids have some fun. I also planted my first garden. I planted corn, carrots, and green beans. The sprouts have already begun to pop out of the ground. Hopefully we will get something good out of it. It takes a couple months before the vegetables will be ready to harvest.

Mom's Graduation

On Friday, May 1st, my mom Kathy Bennett graduated from Utah Valley University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology with an emphasis in Social Work. She has had this goal for a long time and we are proud of her for achieving it. She did really well in school and graduated with honors for her academic work and leadership. She now plans on getting a job within the field and going on to get her master's degree. Congratulations Mom, we are so proud of you!
P.S. Yes we are expecting baby #4 in Nov. (That is why I am so huge!)

Uncle Scot and Megan's visit

A couple weekends ago Shae's brother, Scot, and his girlfriend, Megan, came to visit for the weekend. The girls were really excited to see Uncle Scot since we don't get to see him very often now that he lives in Boise. The kids had fun playing with Scot and Megan. They were spoiled with all the attention they got. We hung out, played games, and went out to dinner. We are glad Scot found Megan. We love her! But we are planning on seeing them hopefully in June and going to Lagoon together.

A couple weeks ago one of my best friends, Kata, from high school was in town visiting her parents. So we decided to get together with another one of our best friends Jessi, who lives in Logan. We decided to meet half way in Layton at the Olive Garden. It was so fun to catch up after years of not seeing each other. Kata just had a beautiful baby girl and Jessi is about to have a baby girl in about a month. We ate and talked for hours. It was nice to see them. We also thought of two other best friends who were missing; Emily and Laura. But it was great to see and visit with them without our kids. Hopefully we can do that again soon!

Crazy spring weather

So on Monday it was a nice spring day outside. I think it was in the 60's, so we went to the park and the kids enjoyed playing in the backyard in the dirt with their new buckets and shovels they got from Grandpa and Grandma Fetters. Yesterday, Wednesday, it was more like the middle of winter. We got snow all day and most of the night last night. I think we got about 5 inches at our house. It is good to get all this moisture for the upcoming summer months, but I am ready for spring and the kids are too. We want to play outside everyday and ride bikes! But this is how it is living in Utah and we still love it here! Shae is supposed to go climbing in the canyon on Saturday. Hopefully the weather will hold up. I think later today we will go out and play in the snow and make a snowman.

Easter

This year the kids got to go to 3 different Easter egg hunts. The first one was at Debbie's parent's house. The second one we had at our house and the third one was at my Mom's house. We also colored eggs there and had a yummy dinner. The kids also got spoiled thanks to Grandpa and Grandma Fetters. They sent a huge package with new clothes, buckets and shovels, and candy. Shae set up their Easter baskets really early on Easter so when they woke up and came down the stairs they were pleasantly surprised. The girls also had an Easter program at preschool. It was cute to watch them sing their songs. Afterward their teacher came up to me and said she can't believe how well Ali is doing. She said Ali has really good fine motor skills for her age and she really enjoys writing her letters.

Lizzy's 5th birthday

Lizzy just turned 5! I can't believe I will have a child in kindergarten in the fall! She is all registered at the elementary school. So Shae took Lizzy's birthday off of work and we did lots of fun things. First Lizzy brought cupcakes to preschool. After preschool we went to the mall to go to Build a Bear, but Lizzy didn't like any of the animals, so we went next door to the Disney store. The night before her birthday Shae took the girls to the dollar movie to see Bolt. So at the Disney store Lizzy found a huge Bolt dog. Of course Ali found a stuffed cat named Mittens and Aiden got a little dog. We had lunch at the mall and played a couple games, thanks to Aunt Niki who had taken Lizzy to the mall a while ago and bought a game card that we used. After naps we went to Jump On It, thanks to Grandpa and Grandma Fetters. Jump On It is a place where they have a lot of trampolines hooked together and they have blow up slides. The kids loved it. Later in the week we had a family birthday party for Lizzy with a pinata. Happy birthday Lizzy, we love you!

Climbing

Shae just joined a climbing group where they go climbing on the first Saturday of each month. He has wanted to start rock climbing for awhile now. So he had the opportunity to go ice climbing and took some pictures. Also as a family we went to the indoor climbing gym here on Valentine's Day to have some fun. I have to say Lizzy loved it. She went up and down many times all the way to the top and climbed lots of different routes. Ali went up once and got half way and was ready to come down. I got to climb twice, but then had to watch Aiden and Ali. It was fun!

Bean Museum

Aiden and I went to the BYU Bean Museum on a field trip with Lizzy and Ali's preschool class. That had been the first time I have been there. I have to say it was fun to see all the animals. Aiden loved it too. I tried to get Lizzy and Ali to pose for pictures in front of the animals, but Lizzy was having none of it. So that is why you will see more pictures of Ali. Aiden even stayed in his stroller the whole time and was happy. The preschool children also made the signs of the animals they knew using sign language. It was a fun time. We will have to go back and bring Shae sometime.

Sledding

We have gotten a lot of snow this year, so Shae decided to build a little sledding hill on our front lawn. Lizzy and Shae were out there for 2 hours playing. Ali was out there for a little while until she got too cold and came in and had hot chocolate. Sadly Aiden hasn't played very much in the snow this year because we still haven't bought him snow pants.

Beauty and the Beast

Last weekend we took a quick trip to Boise to go see Uncle Scot perform in Beauty and the Beast. We decided to leave Aiden with family and friends for the trip since he wouldn't have enjoyed the 6 hour drive or the play. (Thanks to Angie and Jason, Gen and Ashton, and my Mom for watching Aiden-you were a life saver!) The girls were actually really good in the car. Lizzy played Nintendo DS and colored and Ali colored, read books, and took naps. When we got to Boise we went out to lunch with Uncle Scot and his girlfriend Megan. Then we went swimming in the hotel pool and then off to Beauty and the Beast. Uncle Scot played Gaston and his girlfriend Megan played Belle. I have to say they did a great job! The girls knew what was going on since they have seen the Disney movie of Beauty and the Beast many times. Ali enjoyed the show up until the part where Gaston got killed by the Beast. Ali said, "I don't want the Beast to kill Uncle Scot. I love Uncle Scot." Ali was distraught until after the show she could see that Uncle Scot was okay and not hurt. We had to keep explaining that they were just pretending. And on the way home Ali said, "I only want to watch a Beauty and the Beast that doesn't have Uncle Scot in it. Only just Gaston." So we thought her concern for her uncle was pretty cute. The girls had a great time. Thanks to Uncle Scot for getting us tickets and a discount for the hotel!

New Member of the Family

My brother Michael and his wife Camille just had a baby girl! Her name is Afton Esperance Bennett. She was a healthy 7 lbs. 7 oz. She has an older brother, Lance, who is 2 years old. Shae and I are excited that we now have a niece and a nephew! Lizzy, Ali, and Aiden are also excited to have one more cousin to play with!

Christmas

We enjoyed spending Christmas with Shae's family. They came and stayed with us. And this year we have a house that everyone could fit in. Thanks for all the presents. We all got spoiled by Shae's parents. We also went sledding at Soldier Hollow again this year on Christmas Eve. We are making it a tradition. One of my favorite gifts from Shae was a new camera. I took these pictures with my new camera.

Preschool Christmas Program

The girls just had their Christmas program at preschool. All the kids were supposed to wear red. They sang a lot of songs, a lot of them with sign language and some with bells and drums. Grandma Bennett got to come and watch too. At the end they went around and said what they like about Christmas, saying and signing it. Lizzy was the first to go and Ali was the last to go. Lizzy said, "We like Christmas lights." And Ali said, "We like Christmas reindeer's." Everyone thought Ali was so cute because she is the youngest and littlest in the class. Their teacher told me awhile ago that Ali is their mascot for the class because everyone wants to be her friend and calls her, "little cutie." But they both did a great job. Afterwards we went to Carl's Jr. for lunch and let the kids play on the slides.

STITCHES

It was bound to happen...one of our children getting stitches. It just happened to be our youngest child who is almost 14 months old. So Wednesday night I was giving Aiden a bath. After the bath I set him on the bathroom floor and put a towel on him. Then he started to walk away and he slipped on the floor and hit his head, right above his eyebrow, on the edge of the tile, where the tile from the bathroom and the carpet from the hallway meet. As soon as I picked him up and saw his cut I knew he needed stitches. Shae confirmed my diagnosis. I then started crying because I felt so bad for Aiden. Aiden, however, stopped crying pretty quickly. Lizzy also started crying and saying that she didn't want Aiden to get stitches. We had to explain to her that stitches will help the wound heal better and quicker than not having them. So I then called my Mom to see if she could come over and watch the girls and Shae called one of the doctors he works for to see if he could stitch Aiden up. So Shae and I took Aiden to their doctor's office. I was still crying a little in the car as we drove over. Aiden wasn't crying at all. But I pulled it together before we got there. Anyway I ended up holding Aiden to my chest while he first got a shot to numb the area and then 6 stitches. The worst part was getting the shot. Aiden would cry off and on during the stitches because he new something was going on. At one point though he actually almost fell asleep because he was so tired! I didn't cry at all while at the office. But Aiden is doing well and doesn't realize he has stitches in. Shae will pull them out sometime on Monday. I am grateful for all the connections we have with many doctors. We didn't have to take Aiden to the emergency room and wait forever and pay that bill. Shae also says that ER doctors don't stitch very well either.

Leaves and more leaves

So we have 3 trees in our backyard that I love! But when it comes to Fall, they are a lot of work! I decided it was time to rake the backyard and clean up all the leaves. But of course in the process you have to let the kids run and jump in them and take cute pictures of the kids covered in the leaves. Fall is my favorite season!

Aiden just turned 1 and Ali just turned 3! On Aiden's birthday I made cupcakes. (which worked out perfectly because on that same day I took some to preschool so they could celebrate Ali's birthday since they don't have preschool on Fridays) Aiden wasn't too interested in eating the cupcake since he was full from dinner. Then we let him open his presents. We gave him a new winter coat, a little football, a fire truck, and a couple other clothes. But Aiden is now only walking. He doesn't crawl anymore and when he falls down he stands right back up to walk. He is also a little climber. He recently likes to climb on our little Lego table we have in the playroom and stand up on it. He has also found a new way to annoy the girls by turning the television on and off while they are trying to watch a movie. We have to remind Ali and Lizzy that they also liked to do that when they were little.
Ali's birthday is on Halloween. We let Ali open presents in the morning and later that night we took the kids to the mall to go trick or treating and then to Build a Bear so Ali could pick out an animal. But I am amazed at how smart she is. She is thriving in preschool. She has the Pledge of Allegiance memorized, can write her name, can count to 20 or higher, knows her letters and points them out, and loves to sing and do the actions. She is a joy to have around and I love her smile!
But on Sunday, November 2, we had a family birthday party for Aiden and Ali. It was fun to get all my family together to celebrate. They loved all their presents. I also made my first double layer cake with frosting in the middle. I have to say it was pretty yummy!

The Girl's Haircut

I decided it was time Lizzy got her hair cut because it was always ratty and stringy and not looking too cute unless it was pulled back all the time. I had a couple coupons for kid's haircuts at David Douglas Salon, who had cut my hair and I loved it, so I told Lizzy we were going to get her hair cut. Lizzy was scared and wanted Ali to get her hair cut first. I wasn't planning on cutting Ali's hair, but I thought it would be worth it to get Lizzy's done. So Ali went first and was really brave as usual. She loved sitting on the booster seat on the special hair cutting chair. Lizzy went next and I had them wash her hair since at bath time I had already planned on getting her hair cut so we didn't wash it that night. But Lizzy had to lay on my lap while they washed her hair because she was nervous. Then she got her hair cut. She did really well. Both Ali and Lizzy got an A-line cut. I think it looks great on both of them. I think the haircut really soot's Ali because she doesn't like anything in her hair. I wish they didn't cut Lizzy's hair that short, but it will grow out and I still think it looks cute!

Halloween

The kids loved Halloween this year, like every year! We went trick or treating in the mall. That was nice because it went quickly and it was warm. We got a lot of candy in a short period of time. Then we came home and did a little trick or treating in our neighborhood. I think the girls liked handing out candy the best to the trick or treaters that came to our house. Lizzy would grab the bowl filled with candy and Ali would open the door and say, "Hi trick or treaters." Then Ali would proceed to tell them what candy she got or about her new stuffed animal puppy she got for her birthday. Lizzy would hold the bowl and let them pick their own candy. We also went to a fun ward Halloween party where they had fun games for the kids to play. Shae and I even got invited to an adult Halloween party. Shae found a great Ghostbuster costume and I was a tavern lady. Ali and Aiden were monkeys and Lizzy was a pirate. Thanks to the Fetters for the great pirate costume. Lizzy loved it! Also thanks to Aunt Camille for letting Aiden borrow Lance's old monkey costume!

Riding Bikes

It was a nice day last week so we decided to ride bikes in the front yard. Lizzy loves riding a bike without training wheels. Ali loves riding a bigger bike with training wheels and Aiden thinks he is a big boy and can ride any bike. He also likes to make everything a push toy since he is learning how to walk. He can make himself stand up in the middle of the room by himself without holding on to anything. He is also starting to take a few steps by himself. He should be walking in no time. Also he has mastered our stairs. He turns himself to go down backwards on his tummy. This is so nice since now I'm not as worried that he is going to fall down the stairs.

Pumpkin Land

Aiden and I went with the girl's preschool class to Pumpkin Land this past week. Lizzy and Ali enjoyed seeing all the pumpkins, squash, and corn. They also had rabbits, goats, ducks, chickens, and turkeys to look at. Ali liked the rabbits the best and Lizzy liked the goats. There was also a big playground and a light alley to walk through. Ali loves preschool and is doing very well. Lizzy is also loving preschool for the second year and enjoys showing Ali the "ropes."

Grandma and Grandpa Fetters

Grandma and Grandpa Fetters came out to visit for General Conference from Ohio. We got to go to the Saturday afternoon session. It was a great experience. That was the first time Shae and I have been to conference as well. But the kids loved spending time with their Grandma and Grandpa. They loved showing them our new house and how they can ride their bikes. We can't wait until Christmas when they are going to come back out again! We love you Grandma and Grandpa Fetters!

Fun in the Sun!

This summer, like last summer, we got passes to a pool that is pretty close to our house. I finally remembered to bring the camera yesterday to the pool. We like this pool because it is very kid friendly. Lizzy likes jumping off the side and climbing the poles on the umbrellas. Ali likes to play in the shallow end and enjoys eating the snacks we bring. Aiden loves to crawl around in the pool and thinks he can go everywhere. We are sad that the summer is coming to an end. This is the last week the pool is open so we will probably go everyday. Preschool starts next week. I can't wait! :)

Boating

For my birthday present my brother Michael took us boating on his boat. I took the kids so Shae could study for the MCAT. My mom and sisters came as well. We had a ton of fun. I tried wake boarding, surfing, and tubing. My brother Michael even got Lizzy up with him on the surf board. We stayed out all day and the girls weren't ready to come home yet. They really loved swimming in their life vests. I liked wake boarding and tubing. We want to go again soon!

AIDEN

Aiden is now 9 months old! Time is sure flying by. So Aiden now crawls all over the place. He likes to bear crawl a lot. He also pulls himself up to stand up. He follows his sisters around the house and can't wait until he can really play with them. Aiden is getting so many teeth in right now, I can't believe it! He will soon have 6 teeth, 3 on top and 3 on bottom. I think I might see 2 more that are about to break out. Even though Aiden is pretty miserable because his teeth and gums hurt, I am kind of glad that he is getting so many teeth right now because he has recently decided he no longer likes baby food and wants to eat what we are eating. He also likes feeding himself. So I try cut the food that we are eating up really small. I just hope he is getting enough calories. Luckily he still likes baby cereal. As 9 month old boys go, I guess Aiden is on the small end. He just had his 9 month appointment. He weighs 18 pounds now, which is only the 13th percentile. For height he is in the 25th percentile. The only thing that matters is that he is healthy. He loves to smile a lot and he still thinks his big sisters are hilarious.

Dinner in Provo Canyon

We have been trying to maximize our summer by going hiking more and enjoying the outdoors, so we decided to have dinner up in the canyon with our friends Gen and Ashton. Shae has known Ashton for many years, they grew up together in Ohio. We enjoy spending time with them, be it playing games or just hanging out. So we built a fire and roasted hot dogs. We also had yummy strawberries, chips, and ice cream. The girls loved the fire, watching the water, hiking, and getting super dirty. That was a fun outing!

So the past couple months have been a little crazy because we bought a house and moved in! It all happened so fast. Shae was always looking for a house off and on and he found one that looked promising on KSL.com. We hurried and made an appointment to go and look at it and a couple days later we put an offer in. They already had a couple of offers, but they liked us as a family the best and probably our offer the best. So it was accepted and we started the process of getting a loan to purchase the house. Luckily everything went pretty well. In our duplex that we were renting we were only on a month to month contract, so that was perfect. Our landlord found a new tenant quickly. So I hurried up and packed the whole apartment up and said goodbye to our old ward and moved. We still live in Orem and it is pretty close to our old place, but in a nicer neighborhood. So to tell you about our house, it was built in 1991. It has 5 bedrooms and 3 full bathrooms. One of the rooms we use as a playroom. It has 2700 square feet. We love the big fenced in backyard! It has a new master bathroom, new hardwood floors in the kitchen and living room, new kitchen counters, and new fixtures. It has a sprinkler system and a two car garage. No work needs to be done on the house. We are excited to be here. Now we just need to save up some money to buy some more furniture to fill the house. We also love our new ward. Everyone has been really friendly and we have gotten quite a few treats from neighbors welcoming us. So along with a great house, the old owners left us a trampoline, patio set, tether ball pole, lawn mower, air hockey table, stainless steal refrigerator with ice and water on the door, and a flat screen television mounted in the master bedroom. All for free!!!!!!!! So we are excited to be here. We just got Comcast hooked up so I can now update our blog. We also got a home phone number, so call our cell phone and we will give you our home phone.

First official family camping trip

Last weekend we went camping with our ward to a reservoir. We went because it was a free fishing day on Saturday. You didn't need a fishing license and some men in our ward were going to let everyone use their fishing boats and fishing gear to fish. So we headed up after Shae got off work on Friday. We got there about 8:30 pm and luckily enough it was light still to set up our tent. The other thing we noticed right away was how cold it was. It was freezing. We layered the kids as much as we could with all the clothes we brought for them. We made a couple smores and went to bed. I brought Aiden's car seat in the tent thinking that would be a good place for him to sleep. He woke up a couple times and I nursed him, but I could tell he didn't like his car seat. So I put him in my sleeping bag with me. As soon as I did that he was happy and slept the rest of the night. I think he was cold in his car seat. It was so cold and windy and it even snowed on us. You could see your breath in the air. As long as we stayed inside our sleeping bags we were warm. The girls slept through the night just fine. Shae tossed and turned a little because we forgot to bring pillows and he couldn't get comfortable. In the morning we didn't want to get out of our sleeping bags because it was so cold. The kids and I went in our car and turned the heat on full blast. We ate breakfast inside our car to stay warm while Shae put away our tent and sleeping bags. We then waited in the car until we could go out on the boat and try fishing. But it turns out that the fish weren't biting because they had a lot of minnows and fly to eat. (That is what the fishing experts told us). But we still decided to go for a small boat ride. We thought the girls would like it even though it was super cold. We bundled the kids up and Aiden had a warm quilt around him and we went on the boat. While we were on the boat it started to snow on us. We didn't go fast because it was so cold. Aiden actually fell asleep on the boat because he was warm and covered. All the rest of us were cold, but the girls didn't complain. The girls enjoyed the boat ride and enjoyed watching these birds that sit on the waters' surface and then dive down to catch fish. After the boat ride we left for home. On the way home a ton of sheep were on the road, blocking our way. We were home by 11:00 am. For our next camping trip hopefully it will be warm and we will be able to take some pictures instead of focusing on staying warm.

Growing Aiden

Aiden is getting so big. He just turned 7 months old. He is now getting his first tooth. I also took him to the pool for the first time and he loved it. He was splashing and leaning forward to get on his tummy in the water. I think he will start to crawl soon. He also loves "playing" outside and tries to eat the grass. His big sisters love him and Lizzy can always make him laugh!

Preschool Graduation

Lizzy had her preschool graduation. She did an awesome job. She remembered all the songs and sign language. She also had a small part to give and said, "We learned about birds and insects." She remembered her part and a lot of the other kids part. I have to say I was pretty proud of my oldest girl that day. After graduation we went to Chuck E Cheese to celebrate. In the fall Lizzy and Ali will be going to preschool together. That will be nice!

Field trip to see farm animals

Ali, Aiden and I went with Lizzy's preschool to go see the farm animals at Thanksgiving Point. It was really fun. The girls loved getting a pony ride. Lizzy wanted to ride the biggest one. Ali was nervous at first, but then she loved it! Aiden even loved seeing the animals. That was a fun day.

New Swing!

Shae found a swing at Target that is round and has one rope in the middle of it. He hung it from our only tree that is in our front yard and the girls love it. At first I had to help them on, but now Lizzy holds on to it and jumps on. Lizzy will also pick up Ali and put her on and push her. They haven't hit the tree yet, so that's a good sign. I'm glad they have a swing now since we don't have a swing set.

Camp-out with Daddy

Lizzy has been asking for a long time to sleep in the tent in our backyard with Daddy, so finally Shae set up the tent and the girls and Daddy had a camp-out. Aiden and I stayed inside and slept. Ali tried to stay outside, but I guess Lizzy kept talking until it was really late and Ali could not fall asleep. So Ali ended up coming inside, but Lizzy and Shae slept all night in the tent in our backyard. Lizzy had a fun time. Hopefully we will be able to do some real camping this summer.

We had an enrichment for Relief Society about how to save money and cut coupons each month for groceries. A woman from the Daily Herald came and spoke to us. She has been cutting coupons for years and saving a lot on groceries each month. She even gets stuff for free. So I got excited and started doing the same thing. What you do is get coupons from the Sunday paper and online, then you wait for an amazing sale and then use those coupons during the sale. For example Albertsons had a great sale on cereal so I stocked up. I got cereal for about a dollar a box, or less. You can also ask for a rain check and come back when they have the product in stock. The goal is to stock your pantry. I had already stocked up on cereal a couple months ago, so I had to go through all our cereal and organize by expiration date. I decided to take a picture of some of the pile of cereal that we have. At least we could live on dry cereal if we needed to in case of an emergency. We also have canned foods and other necessities too! :)

Shae's sister Nicole got married!

Shae's sister Niki Fetters got married to Luke Bissell on April 12th in the Mount Timpanogos Temple. We are excited for her and think they are a great match. We are happy to have another Uncle for the kids in the family. It was also fun to have Shae's family in town and the kids loved seeing their Grandparents, Aunt Holly, Aunt Niki and now Uncle Luke from Ohio! We wish they could have stayed longer since we only see them a couple times a year. Thanks Grandpa and Grandma Fetters for all you do for us. We love you!

Easter

We had an Easter egg hunt at my brother's house. We didn't paint the eggs, so they are all white. Lizzy and Ali loved finding all the eggs. The girls also got nice sleeping bags, toys to dig in the sand with, and Easter baskets filled with candy. So we are going to have to go camping soon so they can use those sleeping bags. But in the meanwhile they sleep in their sleeping bags on top of their beds.

Lizzy's 4th Birthday

Lizzy turned 4 on February 25 and I'm finally posting it now. For her birthday we got her an ice cream cake from Cold Stone. It was a cookie dough ice cream cake and it was really yummy! We had a family birthday party at my brother's house. One of Lizzy's favorite presents was skates from Grandma Kathy Bennett. She likes to practice skating outside with her protective pads on. Lizzy is getting so big!

Aiden slept through the night!

So last night Aiden slept from 9:15 pm to 7:30 am! I couldn't believe it when I woke up and realized he didn't wake up at all to nurse during the night. We went in at 7:00 am to make sure he was still breathing. I think he slept through the night because he is now eating more solid foods. He had a bowl of rice cereal for dinner last night and ate the whole thing! I also nursed him right before I put him to bed, like usual. Hopefully this will start to be the norm. Even if it isn't, that is fine because he is now usually getting up only once. He is such a good baby! :)

It was so nice outside that we decided to go out and play today. You couldn't believe that it actually snowed a little bit today, but it did! Utah is famous for its crazy weather. So the girls rode their bikes and then they wanted a ride in our wagon. I thought they all looked so cute, so I took a couple pictures.

Little Aiden

Aiden is now 4 months old. I love that he smiles at me every time I look at him. I love his laugh. He laughs easily and is ticklish. Lizzy can get him to laugh by making funny noises and even scary roars. I'm glad Aiden isn't afraid of them! Aiden has some hair on top of his head but not a whole lot everywhere else. I've tried to style his hair and got it to stick up. I think I need more practice with boy's hair. His big sisters love him. Lizzy can now stand up and hold him with supervision. Aiden is now eating rice cereal and has tried sweet potatoes and bananas. He is still getting used to eating solid food but enjoys it for the most part. Aiden is a Mommy's boy and tends to whine when Daddy is holding him. Aiden always knows where I am in a room and tends to stare at me when Shae is holding him. Shae is excited when he can move and play more.

What we are up to

Lizzy just had her 4th birthday and we took her skiing and to Chuck E Cheese. She is still in preschool and loving it. She is also taking swimming lessons at the Orem Fitness Center. While she is swimming I take our double stroller with Ali and Aiden and go run on the track. Hopefully this will help me loose some baby weight. Ali is talking more and contemplating going bathroom on the toilet. Every now and then she will take off her diaper and go put panies on. But soon she is tired of panies and wants a diaper back on. Soon I'm going to have to go full throttle with the potty training because I hope to put her in preschool in the fall. Aiden is getting bigger and working on rolling over. He has done it twice, but not lately. Ali, Aiden and I are getting over the flu. That has been no fun. I just got done playing women church basketball. It was fun while it lasted. And lately I've been into reading The Golden Compass book series by Philip Pullman. The books are great and the movie was fun to watch. I also love playing our Wii Nintendo and have to brag that I am better at target shooting than Shae is! :) Shae is busy working like usual. He is also playing on the men's church basketball team, which is headed for District. He also goes skiing as much as possible. That's our family in a nut shell!

Worst Blogger

Bowling

For FHE last Monday we decided to take the family bowling. This was the kids first time. We got to the bowling alley and had to wait a little. There were a ton of senior citizens there. So we got a lane with bumpers and started. At first I thought we could easily bowl two games. As time went on I knew it would only be one game. It takes the girls a long time to carry their ball and roll it down the lane. Once Ali did it all by herself and I thought we were going to have to walk down the lane and push the ball so it would make it. But a couple minutes later it made it! At first Ali was upset that she had to take turns and that she couldn't bowl the whole time herself. So we were having a good time and I was taking pictures, using an open lane next to us, when an old man came up to me and said, "Excuse me, we are on a bowling league and are trying to bowl." And I said, "That is why I am using this open lane to take pictures." And he said, "It is common courtesy to not walk up by the lane while people are trying to bowl." So these old people were 2 lanes away from us. So now I had to make sure Lizzy and Ali were seated unless it was their turn to bowl. Which is easier said than done. So that kind of took the fun out of it. We made it through a game and I beat Shae!-which is all that matters! :)

First Snow Fall

So we finally got some snow here in Utah! It snowed on the first day of December. Shae took the girls outside to play and build a snowman. Hopefully I will be able to go skiing a couple times this year. Also Lizzy is excited to go skiing again this year with her Dad. She is getting skis for Christmas! Ali might have to wait another year until she is ready to try it out. We love snow and want more of it!

Thanksgiving Preschool Program

Last month Lizzy had a preschool program about Thanksgiving. All the kids dressed like Indians. They sang songs about Thanksgiving and they all went around saying what they were grateful for using sign language. Lizzy sad she was grateful for her father. Watching that little program I found myself being very proud of Lizzy. She knew all the songs and signs. She is getting so big all of the sudden! I love her and her loud personality!

Aiden's 2 week check up

Aiden is nice and healthy! He just had his 2 week appointment and now weighs 9 lbs. and 11 oz. He was 8 lbs. and 2 oz. when he left the hospital. So as you can tell he is a great eater! Aiden is in the 71% for weight and only 34% for height. He is now 20 1/2 inches long. I think he is getting really big. I can already see the changes. It is fun having a baby again because they love to cuddle and they can't talk back! I sometimes wish they all stayed little babies.

Halloween

It's funny that we have two girls because instead of wanting to choose "girly" costumes like fairy princesses they want to be something that a boy would choose to be like a fireman and a turtle. Lizzy chose her costume all by herself. She found it while we were shopping at Costco. And we found Ali's costume at The Children's Place. The girls had fun trick or treating in our neighborhood while I was still in the hospital and got lots of candy.

Aiden Shae Fetters joined our family at 7:14 am! He weighed in at 8 lbs. 6 oz. and 18 inches long. When I first saw him I was a little surprised because he really didn't look like the girls when they were born, but I was immediately in love with him and excited to have a boy. The scheduled c-section went well. The spinal that I was given to make my lower half completely numb didn't even hurt! That was a first. He was born at American Fork Hospital in Utah. The staff was really nice and I would recommend others to deliver there. The hospital stay was relaxing and I also love not having to cook.
